Project Notes: The owners of this single-family home opted to reface rather than replace their kitchen. The project entailed replacing doors and drawer fronts with Doormark products, plus adding a quartz-style countertop, tiled backsplash and sink.

“They didn’t want the mess of tearing out the whole kitchen and taking seven to 15 days to do the job if they went brand new, so they decided to go with refacing,” says Chris Leonas, owner of Kitchen Baths & More. “The boxes were in great shape but a tired color. We refaced all their cabinet fronts and sides and the bottoms. I provided them new doors in the Shaker look with soft close hinges, and I replaced the countertops and back splashes.

“A lot of people don’t want a contractor to pitch a tent,” Leonas continues. “I completed the project in three days from start to finish and they saved more than 50 percent. The homeowners were very happy with the transformation.”
