Project Notes: After more than 20 years of living with their white kitchen, the homeowners decided it was past time for a major update. So, they turned to Kitchens, Baths & More (KB&M) to give their kitchen a complete makeover.

The first thing KB&M Owner Chris Leonas determined upon inspecting the kitchen was that all of the cabinets were in good shape, making them a solid candidate for refacing instead of replacing.

“The customers decided they wanted to go with a dark woodgrain and settled on Chocolate Pear based on my recommendation,” Leonas says. “It was a two-day project. On day one we took out all of the cabinet doors, drawer fronts and countertops. We replaced the doors and fronts with Doormark’s Daytona and used soft-close hinges on the doors. We also applied Chocolate Pair thermofoil to the cabinet sides and fronts.

“On day two, we installed granite countertops along with new backsplashes, sink and faucet.”

Not only were the homeowners pleased to save a lot of time and money by refacing instead of replacing, Leonas says they loved the “Wow factor” realized by the finished project.
