Project Notes: South Florida Doors & Closets recently turned a plain laundry room, located just off a homeowner’s garage entrance, into a much more inviting and functional space, complete with a new mudroom.

“It was a completely empty laundry room except for the washer and dryer,” says David Schrager, the company’s owner. “On the side with the machines, we designed the space to maximize countertop area around the sink and added storage above the units. On the other side, we created a mudroom with plenty of storage cabinets, perfect for kids to hang backpacks and store their shoes.”

The design features satin gold brass hardware that beautifully complements the Doormark’s Smokey Blue cabinet doors. A hanging rod was also installed above the sink for convenience in drying clothes.

“They wanted something modern and stylish, and we collaborated closely on the design,” Schrager explains. “I believe the blue with a white countertop creates a look that is clean, modern, fresh, and welcoming—a place where doing laundry feels comfortable and positive, rather than dreary.”
